6. Cellophanes on Your Cigars, Removed or Not? .

Some cigars arrive individually cellophaned, whille others are "naked". The question is if remove the cellophane or not. Basically is up to you; if you have several brands and blends in your humidor, the flavor of each brand will intermingle the uniqueness of the others. The cellophane will also help to trap and maintain moistture to certain degree for shorter storage periods. Its a fact that a naked cigar in your humidor will age better and will enhance its aroma with the cedar liners of the humidor. By law cigar manufactured in the United States must be invidually wrap with a cellophane.

7. How do I store my cigars? .

The only way to preserve your fine handmade cigars is to maintain the proper moisture content and temperature. Dry cigars burn hot and harsh, and youll feel like youre smoking a bundle of hay. On the other hand, overly moist cigars will give you a migraine while you draw and taste like a sour lemon! If you dont have one, you need a humidor. When I first started, I used a tupperware container, and left a moist hand towel inside but not touching the cigars - something like this will work fine as a makeshift but sooner or later, youll need to upgrade, to a simple humidor. Also a old cedar cigar box is a good starter humidor; they are inexpensive and easy to find. Just get the box and buy a "humistad", (this is the devise that hold the moisture in the humidor) ask your tobacconist. Moist the inside liners of the box and wait one hour, the place your cigars inside with the humistat.
